Catherine Jordan obtained her Master's degree in Community/Clinical Psychology at California State University, Northridge where she also obtained her Bachelor's degree in Psychology. She is a Washington State Certified Mental Health Counselor and a Child Mental Health Specialist. Ms. Jordan also has considerable experience and training in the field of Chemical Dependency.
Trained and Certified as a Clinical Hypnotherapist through the Wellness Institute, Ms. Jordan is a Certified Hypnotherapist through the National Guild of Hypnotists as well. She is also an Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapist and has completed the two-level training program offered through the EMDR Institute. Eye Movement Therapy is a relatively new technique that appears to be particularly effective in treating anxiety, panic attacks, phobias, sexual abuse and other traumas.
Ms. Jordan has had extensive training and more than 13 years experience working with both children and adults in individual, family, couple's and group settings. She specializes in working with women and children but also works with some men as well as couples. Ms. Jordan works together with her clients to determine the goals of treatment with the immediate focus of therapy being on giving clients the immediate tools they need to feel better.
Ms. Jordan is a Preferred Provider for King County Medical Blue Shield, Ethix Northwest and NYL Care. Many other insurance plans are also accepted. Day and Evening Appointments.
